It used to feel like a movie where you thought you knew where it would end. Always taking chances. Knowing in the end you'll win again. But you weren't looking when the tables seemed to have turned, and now you're misunderstood when you say the script should be burned. And always feeling lonely when you're not alone will eventually make it so. Don't mind the cold, it only brings you minor pain, and your frozen lake will thaw after these days... Please just wait.

Shelter 04:02
The phone call I received was to liberate at best but now I find I'm still waiting on you. There's a sense of competition with the ones who hurt the most, but this game is fixed and I'm not too keen on losing. Every thought I commit to memory of this digs a hole to where you are. I can see lightning from afar, and every bolt that intends to hit will scorch the earth until it splits, but as long as I don't go outside I'm fine. There's a river forming in a massive lake. Its trappings kept it neatly in place. While the sound of it breaking away was glass bottles dying for an eternity that won't last as late. Now they're littering the wayside with the binds that used to tie them down in one direction. Of a life that wasn't mine. Now the warmth is breaking through just as I knew it would do. Just as I knew it would do.

I left those sins a few cities back. Certain stories should not be retold. But the Witnesses won't decompose. And the victims are pestilent ghosts. Have I lost my touch or do back doors moan a little louder than when I was young? These days I've more to hide, but those secrets are mine. They're mine, those secrets are mine. Through lack of heart we know no ache. Never forget the things you've done. Just hold on to those mistakes. I don't ask to be redeemed. Just stay away from me, let me find peace. I'm an old face in a new town. A stranger in a familiar place where everyone knows my name and I can't escape. Where were you when the consequence came calling? Where were you when I laid down my arms? I've yet to exploit a course you have not charted, but I will bring down the body count. I'll bring down the body count. I'm an old face in a new town. A stranger in a familiar place where everyone knows my name and I can't escape.

I've never been a Rochester accent down on the south side of my home I've called it so since I was in... On the landing of someone else's basement stairs, where I'll be standing and planning for my rise on a thick cloud of hot air. Always reminding to look down and keep smiling. She's always been a quite peculiar kid, and they all know her name and age and weight and where she must have been. And in the morning she walks blindly to the start of every warning that she'll find boring. Her long black hair won't always stay this way. Unlike the town she lives/she knows will always stay the same. Oh, how I wish I could tell you, you're just like me. But would it matter if you wake up and you can't breathe? Can't you see that it's not personable? You know we'll never win this race by staying in one place... ...and she goes - "This town is a high school reunion six years before its time. I don't want to be looking into disapproving eyes. Every day these cretins learn one more thing that I've done. Every day these cretins learn one more way to ruin my fun." Then in her head said "burn it down."

Submission 03:27
Hold on to that glimmer of hope to hold me accountable. Just to make a buck. To set a trap. Something tells me to stop wasting time losing on this. Slide the receiver down to the old home screen to see a face, defeated, when it leaves. It's something I know I need. Slide the receiver down to the old home screen to see a face, defeated, when it leaves. Present this project twice just to redo it for three. Longing for the day I stop receiving these. You know the score. I ain't working there no more. So holler back with your bait on a string. It's something I know I need. It's something you know I need. I guess I'll send this tomorrow.

Pull Oceans 05:31
Put your armor on, you don't know what's out there. When they stare from the sun, they will burn your bones bare. Can you paint this picture without a brush or canvas? Tell me who's in control among handless mechanics. If you find you're hated by all other living things, don't find your hatred in all other living things. We will rest.... ...pull oceans into small boxes. gaze upon all you really have. The devil can cite the scripture for his motives alone. And to stoke up hell fires, spies are hiding in your home. They put on the airs that you were breathing. Nothing to fill in your lungs. But if you're drowning in the cold deep, you will not flail alone. But if you find you waited for something good to drop in. You'll find your fate is sealed unless you learn to swim. We will rest heads on shoulders. We will rest heads on shoulders. Hold fast hearts are anchors. (Pull oceans into small boxes. Gaze upon all you really have.) We will rest heads on shoulders. (Pull oceans into small boxes. Gaze upon all you really have.)

"The cold will always go away". And you tell me that we are the same. But I am reborn every day. So tell me why you wait? This road is far too long for things to drop into your lap, or give up. Or give up. Or give up. It's far too long for you to give up. I started once in fire, but everything has burned off since. So we can start again. I promise that we can. Our roads may never end.
8.
Earthbound 04:48
Don't you love your anxious anger when it angers you so well? It's hard to tell which frequencies won't find you scrambled... Electricity will now be passed through your entire body until you are dead. The ghosts in the yard are playing games with our minds again. Our eyes, they see what they were told to see. Just lie here next to me, and I will keep you warm in this cold cemetary. ...(it's hard to find cold in one that you love) I'm earthbound. But you won't ever hear this.
9.
Think of a time when I needed this, and how I needed ammunition to fire off into the surrounding empty space. Oh, what a hole I've dug myself into. There's not a root to grab onto when you're on a slippery slope and they won't catch you. Hey, have you ever had one of those days where everything goes perfectly when perfect's not your place? Now there's a ringing in my head, just like a song I've heard before. One hundred times feels like it may have had it's turn.
10.
When all of these days blur into one and I'm left with a last impression, I'll surrender on one condition - that the air won't bite me if I stand still. But moving with it will accelerate into something with intentions just a bit weighed towards a target that's not in plain sight, and ask a bloody ransom for a new life. You wouldn't waste your breath on me. Because I've learned to lose and still be free. All the storms that reside in my mind are still no match for the fires in your eyes. Something you told me is stuck in my side. "Never forgive, never forget." You could learn a thing or two from me. Because I've learned to lose and still be free. Now the devil's looking down and a smile comes from a frown. I can learn to laugh along with him now. And now I wonder if I have ever lost touch on purpose. And if you'd ever done the same? If all my longings have been selfishly sought, or if you've ever cursed my name. Probably not. You're too good to me. Now the devil's looking down and a smile comes from a frown. I can learn to laugh along with him now. Will this closure that we've found try to drive me into the ground if I can't learn to laugh along with him now?

Neva 04:42
Neva, don't you know your name? Neva. It used to be so easy to explain. "These hands are far too old to be part of this frame", you'd say. But Neva, don't you know your name? Neva... ... would you please get out of bed? ...did you hear what your name said? ...it's not over yet. It's not over yet. Neva, don't you know your name?
12.
Daring ship captain, you almost wore your red shirt for the right occasion this time. But you always make it out alive, don't you? Don't chew your teeth down to skull, you'll be fine. And every shortcoming you come to will be mine. If I should fail, and if I should fall, just know it's to be expected. As long as I have teeth I will be bite you hard. Just so you know the pain, because it knows your name. Daring ship captain, you almost wore your red shirt for the right occasion this time.
